We've got work to do
Ms. Donna, with Hatch Ideas Creatives, was looking for a graphic designer to provide their manuscript with a unique and remarkable design. They believed the design should be vibrantly feminine, creative, and easy to read.
Since the book content focused on practical tips, there would be tons of lists and recommendations for the readers.
The team had difficulty finding the right graphic designer who got their vision. We worked with Ms. Donna and Hatch Ideas Creatives to turn their vision into reality.
What we did to help
— Identified the book interior’s color palette based on the cover illustration by Yanna Gemora
— Prepared font pairing studies
— Designed the initial chapter design
— Ensured that the final output adhered to the publisher's technical requirements
Studies
These are the initial chapter and font pairing studies.
We worked in collaboration with the team to complete all the chapters. The biggest challenge in the design process was ensuring that the entire interior and book cover layout adhered to the publisher’s requirements. This took a couple of iterations to achieve, but we’re glad to have met them.
Results
The published hardcover and paperback versions were precisely what the team had envisioned! The design gave the impression that the book was fun to read, lively, and light-hearted.

Reflections
It’s incredibly fulfilling to capture a client’s creative vision and turn it into reality. Taking cues from the keywords they provide in their project briefs helps build creative work that garners results.
While designing the book, we also skimmed through some of its content. As designers, we ought to pay careful and detailed attention to details that help make a simple page look more lively and easy to read without bombarding the readers with too many visuals.
